Samsung’s new Galaxy S9 might be the most durable smartphone you can buy right now, but it’s still prostrate to cracks of glass when dropped. Samsung hypes “refined Infinity display” on the Samsung Galaxy S9 to provide enhanced durability. It bounced the thickness over previous models 20 percent from 0.5T to 0.6T.

Popular YouTube channel, Unlockriver took the drop test to a new level by dropping the new Samsung Galaxy S9 from 1,000 feet high to check what happens. As expected, the screen and the back of the S9 was seriously broken. The left side had crushed right on the point where the glass curves. There was also a huge crack that went from the damaged edge to the bottom of the phone, with minor dents on the metal frame of the device. The device survived, but it was definitely damaged to the point that it would require a back case for further usage. After a noteworthy effect at a vast height, the Galaxy S9 totally broke on the two sides, it got bent and the SIM card pushed out. Yet, the device was still functional, when the phone is it connected to the computer, the speakers even worked and it could still make or receive calls. That is one strong and durable smartphone from Samsung. So the Samsung Galaxy S9 earned a durability score of 6.3 out of 10 from UnlockRiver.
