Samsung’s Foldable Smartphone Expected to Launch in March, to Cost Around Rs 1,20,000

According to the new report, South Korean smartphone maker Samsung is planning to unveil its foldable phone in March 2019. The new report also revealed the price of the Samsung’s first foldable smartphone and it is said to launch along with Galaxy S10 5G-enabled phone.

Yonhap news agency of South Korea reported that Samsung plans to launch its Galaxy S10 flagship in February, after the recently announced foldable phone in March. The report also states that foldable smartphone will be launched along with a 5G variant of the Galaxy S10.

After Samsung Electronics President Koh Dong-jin said that the company will release a foldable phone within the first half of 2019. Koh said the shipment volume of the foldable smartphone will be at least 1 million.

The latest report also adds the Samsung plans to unveil the flagship Galaxy S10 smartphone in February, followed by the presumed foldable Galaxy F and another edition of the Galaxy S10 that runs on the 5G network in March. However, the long-awaited foldable phone is not expected to support the 5G network.

Moreover, the price of the foldable smartphone has not been decided by Samsung yet, but the industry watchers claimed that it can be expected to cost around KRW 2 million (approx. $1,770 or Rs. 1,29,100).

To recall, South Korean tech giant Samsung has unveiled its foldable smartphone at its fifth annual developer conference in San Francisco. When unfolded, this device will serve as a tablet and when folded, it will serve as a smartphone. Samsung said the mass production of the foldable tablets would be started in the coming months. Samsung has used ‘Infinity Flex Display’ for the foldable smartphone that lets users open and closes it again without any degradation.
