Sony has announced the Xperia Pro 5G smartphone in the US. The Xperia Pro can double as a monitor for your existing camera or camcorder as it ships with a Micro-HDMI port through which you can get live feed from your external camera.

Priced at $2,499 (approx Rs 1,82,500), Sony Xperia Pro is currently available only in the US, through Amazon, B&H Photo Video, and the Sony online store.

On the front, the Sony Xperia Pro has a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display with a resolution of 1,644×3,840 pixels and a 21:9 aspect ratio. The display offers 100 percent coverage of DCI-P3 100 colour gamut and a dedicated Creator mode powered by CineAltra. It is also protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 6.
The backside of the phone has a Sony branding, in addition to a 12-megapixel primary Exmor RS for mobile sensor with an f/1.7 lens along with two 12-megapixel sensors with an f/2.4 lens and an f/2.2 lens with a 124-degree field-of-view (FoV) triple-camera setup along with an LED flash. Whereas, on the front, it features an 8-megapixel (f/2.0) snapper for selfies and video calls.
The phone is fuelled by the flagship Snapdragon 865 SOC paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS storage. The device also supports Micro-SD card expansion up to 1TB. Running this phone is a 4,000mAh battery that supports Xperia Adaptive Charging and USB Power Delivery (PD) fast charging.
On the connectivity front, the smartphone supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, micro-HDMI, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. As for audio technology the phone has Dolby Atmos audio technology. The phone is also IP68 certified, making it water and dust resistant. It measures 170.18×76.2×10.16mm and weighs 225 grams.
