An Amazon India listing recently revealed that the Tecno Camon 17 series is set to arrive in India soon. The series will be first available in the Prime Day sale on July 26. However, Tecno India has confirmed that the Tecno Camon 17 series will be launched on July 15.
The series was introduced in Kenya back in April. In India, the series will have the same specifications as the global models, and sales will start on July 26.
The Tecno Camon 17 series inludes Tecno Camon 17 and Tecno Camon 17 Pro smartphones. It is expected that the former will land in India under the Rs 15,000 bracket while the latter will certainly land between the Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 bracket.
Tecno Camon 17 specifications
With a 6.55-inch HD+ display, the Tecno Camon 17 offers a 1600 x 720-pixel screen resolution, 450 nits peak brightness, 90Hz refresh rate, and 90% screen-to-body ratio.
This smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 processor clocked at 2GHz. It comes with an internal storage of 128GB and up to 6GB of RAM. A HiOS 7.6 based on Android 11 OS is preinstalled.
It features a 16-megapixel camera inside the hole-punch cutout. This phone has a triple-camera system at its back that includes a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 2-megapixel tertiary sensor.
With a battery of 5,000mAh, Tecno Camon 17 supports 18W charging. Among the other features on the phone are Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS/ GLONASS/ Beidou, and USB Type C.

Tecno Camon 17 Pro comes with a 6.8-inch IPS LCD screen with a center punch-hole cutout. The display has a resolution of 1080 * 2460 pixels, a refresh rate of 90Hz, a peak brightness of 500 nits, a screen-to-body ratio of 82%, and a pixel density of 395 PPI.
A notch cutout on the front houses the 48MP selfie camera. On the back of this smartphone, you’ll find a quad-camera setup. There is a 64MP main camera, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and two 2MP sensors.
There is a MediaTek Helio G95 processor under the hood. It comes with an ARM Mali-G76 MC4 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of native storage. The storage can be expanded with a microSD card.
The Tecno Camon 17 Pro packs a 5000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging. The device ships with the HiOS skin based on the Android 11 OS. The phone comes with a side-mounted fingerprint reader, dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port.
