Vivo U1 with full view display and dual rear cameras launched

Vivo which recently split-off IQOO as its subbrand launched its first U1 series smartphone in its Home country. The smartphone is currently available in China and it is yet to confirmed whether it will make its appearance in the global market. The handset got a halo water drop notch with dual rear camera setup and a gradient paint job on its back.

The new Vivo U1 will available in three colour options-Midnight Black, Purple, and Aurora Red colours and three storage variants 32GB+3GB RAM, 64GB+3GB RAM, and 64GB+4GB RAM.While the base variant priced at RMB 799 (approximately Rs 8,400),and higher variant at RMB 999 (approximately Rs 10,500) and top variant RMB 1,199 (approximately Rs 12,600).

As of now, The device is listed for purchase on the official online store of Vivo China. The shipments will kick off on February 26. As said there is no word on its availability in India.

Talking about specifications, The smartphone features a 6.2-inch FullView display with 1520 x 720 pixels screen resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio, and 2.5D curved glass on top. Thanks to halo waterdrop notch, the phone comes with 88.6 per cent screen-to-body ratio.

At the heart, The device is armed by a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 439 mid-range octa-core processor, paired by an Adreno 505 GPU and either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The 3GB RAM model packs 32GB internal storage while the 4GB RAM model comes with 64GB internal storage. For memory expansion, there is a dedicated MicroSD slot that can be done 256GB.

For imaging, The device has a dual rear camera setup that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor, along with an LED flash. The camera features all modern features that a current smartphone bears that include panorama, beauty mode, portrait mode and AR stickers.

For Biometrics, the Vivo U1 is equipped with face to unlock and fingerprint scanner where the latter can also use for authenticating payments. The device is preloaded by an Android 8.1 Oreo OS that is customized with FunTouch OS 4.5 UI. It also features Vivo’s Jovi AI assistant. In terms of connectivity, the device includes all possible connective terms like current smartphones.
