Xiaomi Announces Price Hike on Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A Dual

Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A Dual prices in India have been hiked. The hiked prices of the Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A Dual smartphones are now reflecting on the company’s official website and Amazon. Here’s a complete list of phones from Xiaomi whose price has been hiked.

Redmi Note 8 has gotten a Rs 500 bump from the prices at which they were originally launched. The Redmi Note 8 4GB + 64GB was launched for Rs 9,999 and later on, the price was hiked to Rs 10,499. However, only the 4GB RAM variant received the price hike while the 6GB RAM variant price is not increased in India. The Redmi Note 8 4GB RAM + 64GB model is now available for purchase with the revised pricing on Amazon and Mi.com.

The Redmi 8, on the other, is now priced in India at Rs. 9,299 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, while the Redmi 8A Dual 2GB RAM with 32GB storage option is now priced at Rs 7,299. Both these phones received the price hike of Rs. 300. To recall, the Redmi 8 base model was earlier available for Rs 8,999 whereas the Redmi 8A Dual 2GB RAM with 32GB storage was earlier available for Rs 6,499.

Redmi Note 8 Specifications

Redmi Note 8 comes with a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood, there is an octa-core latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot allows for further storage expansion up to 256GB.

In terms of optics, the Redmi Note 8 gets a quad-camera setup at the rear. The configuration comprises a 48-megapixel primary sensor coupled with an 8-megapixel ultrawide and dual 2-megapixel shooter for macro and depth sensing. On the front, the handset gets a single 13-megapixel AI front camera. Redmi Note 8 has a 4,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support via USB Type-C. On the software terms, the Redmi Note 8 runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI 11 skin.

Redmi 8 sports a 6.22-inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass dot-notch display with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. It runs 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 SoC that is paired with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Users can also expand the storage up to 512GB with a microSD card. The phone features 12MP + 2MP cameras on the rear and 8MP selfie shooter. Ticking all these is a 5,000mAh battery.

The Redmi 8A Dual has arrived with the display of a 6.22-inch HD+ display with waterdrop notch with a 1520×720 pixels resolutions. The display of the device will be protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and splash-resistant coating. The phone sports the company’s new Aura XGrip design.

Talking about the camera of the device, it has a dual rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, it has 8-megapixel of Selfie Shooter which also helps in Face Unlock. 

The Redmi 8A Dual is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC that is clocked up to 2GHz. It comes with two variants 2GB RAM/32GB storage and 3GB RAM/32GB storage. The memory is expandable via a dedicated MicroSD card up to 512GB. 

Redmi 8A Dual runs on Android 10-based MIUI 11 and it packs a 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging through USB Type-C. On the connectivity front, this dual-SIM smartphone support VoLTE on both SIM cards as well as VoWiFi.
