Xiaomi has finally unveiled its latest smartphone Mi Play that sports water drop notch which is first to the company. Ahead of the launch, the Mi Play smartphone is rounded up with numerous leaks that spilt beans of pretty much information about the smartphone. The new handset sports stunning glossy look with gradient paint job which somewhat looks alike the Realme, Honor and Asus recently launched midrange smartphones.

Pricing and Availability

The Xiaomi Mi Play has launched in China with a price tag at 1099 yuan, which is approximately coming around Rs 11,000. For now, the device is launched in China but there is no word regarding its global launch and launch in India. This smartphone comes in three colour options — Black, Blue, and Red with a gradient paint job that gives a premium look.

Specifications and features

Speaking about the specifications, The Mi Play rumours and leaks came true. As rumoured, This smartphone is the first in the company to sports waterdrop notch. The smartphone flaunts a Full HD+ display that measures 5.84-inches in size coupled with the resolution of 1080×2280 pixel with an aspect ratio of 19:9.

On the hardware internals, The smartphone is powered by an octa-core 2.3 GHz MediaTek Helio P35 12nm processor with GPU Turbo graphics. As per rumoured the device comes bundled with 10GB free data per month for a year. Here it got a false alarm in a rumour with two storage variants but in reality, the smartphone comes in only one variant with 4GB of RAM memory and 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded further via microSD card to up to 256GB.

For shutterbugs, The smartphones come with a dual rear camera setup with one sensor on the front. The rear side comes with a combination of a primary sensor of 12-megapixel while the second camera is of the 2-megapixel sensor. On the front, the Mi Play comes packed with an 8-megapixel sensor with AI support. The smartphone has Dual Turbo Smart Acceleration technology and Xiao AI, assistant.  To make sure the phone ticks all way it is powered by a 3,000mAh battery which sits inside a plastic body. For Biometrics, The phone is backed by fingerprint scanner.
