Xiaomi Redmi 8A Launched in India at a Starting Price of Rs. 6,499

Xiaomi on Wednesday launched Redmi 8A smartphone in India. Targeted at entry-level consumers, Redmi 8A will go on sale at a starting price of Rs 6,499. The top-end model is priced at Rs 6,999. The phone will go on sale from September 29 on Flipkart.

Xiaomi Redmi 8A Specifications

Redmi 8A a 6.22-inch HD+ display with support for 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Snapdragon 439 processor with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage. Internal storage is also expandable up to 512GB through MicroSD card.

For the camera, the Redmi 8A features a 12-megapixel Sony IMX 363 sensor with f/1.8 aperture and Dual Pixel Autofocus. There is a 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. Both the front and rear cameras on Redmi 8A are also capable of taking AI Portrait mode shots.

It is backed by a massive 5,000mAh battery and it runs on MIUI 10, which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. The device offers support for USB Type-C port and 18W fast charging.

Xiaomi Redmi 8A Price and Availability

As we mentioned earlier, Xiaomi Redmi 8A base variant with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage is priced at Rs. 6,499 while the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage is priced at Rs. 6,999. It will go on sale in India from September 29. The phone will be made available across offline stores as well soon through Mi Home, Mi Studio, Mi Stores, and Mi Preferred partners. Redmi 8A will be available in three colour options – Red, Blue, and Black.
