Xiaomi Redmi Y3 India Launch Confirmed for April 24th

Xiaomi is all set to upgrade their popular Redmi Y2 smartphone in India. The Redmi Y3 has been confirmed for launch on April 24th. The Xiaomi India CEO Manu Kumar Jain has officially confirmed that its popular smartphone, the Redmi Y3, will be launched in India on April 24. Even though he didn’t mention the name of the device, his new and the previous tweet’s caption clearly hinting at the Redmi Y3.

The upcoming device is a successor to the Redmi Y2, which proved to be a surprise hit for Xiaomi. Manu Kumar Jain tweeted, “Few more days till we reveal #32MP Super Selfie. Mark the date 24-04-2019.” Earlier, he was seen taking a bunch of selfies with the upcoming Redmi Y phone, which is a follow-up tweet was confirmed that he took 32 selfies with his colleagues, suggesting at the 32-megapixel selfie camera for the upcoming Redmi Y3.

Xiaomi has improved the camera department on a lot of its smartphones. The company has already launched the Redmi Note 7 Pro with the massive 48-megapixels rear camera. Now, they are gearing up to launch a phone with a whopping 32-megapixel selfie camera. Considering the predecessor Redmi Y2 was launched with 16-megapixel selfie camera, the 32-megapixels front shooter on the upcoming Redmi Y3 will be a huge upgrade. It could use Samsung’s GD1 32-megapixel sensor for the front camera setup, which offers HDR enhancement. It is expected to feature the same dual rear camera setup of 12-megapixel + 2-megapixel used on the Redmi Note 7.

Recently, the Redmi Y3 has been granted Wi-Fi certification, which is usually one of the final tests required to release a new smartphone. However, it’s best to wait for confirmation from Xiaomi about details as the launch nears the April 24 date.

On the camera department, the device got 12MP + 5MP dual-camera setup at the rear and there is a 16 MP camera with light flash on the front for taking better selfies.
