Android 9 Pie Update Starts Rolling Out for Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, Moto Z3 Play

Lenovo-owned Motorola, which has a good record of releasing major updates to its devices, has started rolling out the Android 9.0 Pie update to the Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, Moto Z3 Play. The latest Android build is being rolled out over-the-air (OTA) to Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, Moto Z3 Play users. To recall, these smartphones from the Motorola was launched in India last year running Android 8 Oreo.

According to the report by Brazilian website techtudo (Courtesy GSMArena), the new update the update adds stability improvements, bug fixes, new/enhanced features, and performance improvements. The update includes Android 9 Pie features such as the adaptive battery, better notification management, and smarter app search with app shortcuts, Do Not Disturb mode along with split-screen function. The company has already rolled out the Pie-based update for its Motorola Moto One Power, X4, and Moto G6 Plus.

Furthermore, the report claims that Motorola is even working on Android 9 Pie update for few other devices including Moto Z2 Force and Moto Z2 Play.

To check if your Motorola Moto G6, G6 Play or Z3 Play has received the update or not, you can do so manually by opening your device’s settings, followed by About Phone tab. click on “System Updates”. Now, check for the new Android 9 Pie update. If the update shows up press download and install. Remember, it may take a few days to reach every user.

For now, Motorola has not revealed any information regarding the rollout of the update in the Indian market. However, as the update is already rolling out in Brazil, it will take less time to receive an update for Indian users.
