Asus is likely to launch two ZenFones in India on October 17: Everything you need to know

Asus is prepping up to launch its latest Zenfones in India which also sent out media invites for a launch event on October 17. The two smartphones are taking a global launch in India which means India is the first market to get them. Where the first could be called the ZenFone Max Pro M2, while the second model might be known as the ZenFone Max M2. Interestingly, These two upcoming smartphones are the line-up series to the ZenFone Max Pro M1, which was launched in April this year.

Remarkably, these two smartphones were spotted in certification listing of the Eurasian Economic Commission in Russia. The phones were listed with model number ZB633KL and ZB631KL. Both phones are expected to run Android 8.0 Oreo.

Previously, Asus  Zenfone Max Pro M1 was built to directly take on the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Mi A1 (which has since been replaced by the Mi A2). And now the corporate pits its new ZenFones straight up against the Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A.

It comes with up to 64GB of internal storage which is further expandable by up to 256GB via a dedicated micro-SD card slot. It boasts a mammoth 5,000mAh battery which is claimed to offer 34.1 days of 4G standby and 25.3 hours of 1080p video playback and up to 35 hours of 3G talk-time. The ZenFone Max Pro M1 also supports fast charging.
