ROG Phone 2, the popular gaming smartphone from Asus, has received a launch date in India. The phone which is designed for ultimate gaming is set to be unveiled on September 23 in the country. Prior to the phone’s official launch though, Asus has confirmed that the ROG Phone 2 will be exclusive to Flipkart. As per the webpage, the ROG Phone 2 will be launched on September 23 at 12:30 PM.
Being touted as ‘Worshipped by Gamers Loved by Tech Gurus”, the Asus ROG Phone 2 is said to offer amazing gaming experience. As the device is already launched in China earlier this year, we all know the specifications of the Rog Phone 2.
Asus ROG Phone 2 Specifications
The Asus ROG Phone 2 features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and up to 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is fuelled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC with Adreno 640 GPU at its core. It is coupled with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
For immense gaming experience, the handset has front-facing stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra support. The speakers come with larger chambers and are reportedly twice as loud as the ones found on the ROG Phone. The handset also has a 3.5mm audio jack. There are four microphones on board, as well as specially placed antennas that streaming is seamless. The ROG Phone 2 will also come with a bunch of gaming accessories. These include the likes of the Kunai Gamepad, TwinView Dock II, AirTriggers, and more. There is also a 3D vapor chamber feature on the handset to maintain performance (reduce throttling) while gaming. Since the heat is redirected outside the phone, the company includes the second generation AeroActive Cooler II in the box.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the ROG Phone 2 comes equipped with a dual-camera setup on the rear. It comprises of 48-megapixel Quad Bayer sensor along with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. On the front, there is a 24-megapixel selfie shooter. It runs Android 9 Pie OS and is backed by a 6000mAh battery with 30W ROG HyperCharge as well as Quick Charge 4.0.
Connectivity features on the phone include WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth V 5.0 ( EDR + A2DP), GPS(L1+L5), GLO, BDS, GAL(E1+E5a), QZSS(L1+L5), USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and dual-SIM support.
