The Asus ZenFone 5Z shipped with Android 8.0 Oreo and runs on company’s ZenUI on top. Asus has a decent record of Android version updates, but the company hasn’t shared its timeline for the Android Pie update for the Zenfone 5Z till yesterday. Now the company has confirmed Android 9.0 Pie update rollout to its ZenFone 5Z smartphone in January 2019.

According to the company, the update will bring many new features, that include an all-new contextual pop-up volume bar and a new Magnifier feature which makes it easy to copy and paste. However, Asus has not provided any details about the features and changes this new update will bring to the Zenfone 5Z till now. But we can expect few major tweaks in the update.

To recall, the Asus Zenfone 5Z features 6.2-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. The camera is the main thing we should consider in today’s generation. The Asus Zenfone 5Z sports a 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel rear camera setup, besides an 8-megapixel front camera. The device runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with Andreno 630 GPU. Asus Zenfone 5Z equipped with 64GB/ 128GB/ 256GB inbuilt storage options and up to 8 GB RAM variants one with 6 GB and another one with 8 GB. The smartphone features 5000 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. Talking about the OS, as we mentioned earlier, this phone runs on the ZenUI 5.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo.
