OnePlus officially confirmed that the upcoming 5G smartphone will be released in 2019, and won’t be (OnePlus 7) the successor of the recently launched flagship killer OnePlus 6T. This indicates that the company is planning to bring new smartphone series into the market with a different price range.
According to a media source, the upcoming new OnePlus 5G smartphone would be priced around Rs.46,381(USD 650.) which is Rs.7000 (USD 100) costlier than the OnePlus 6T. The price tag is acceptable as the OnePlus is bringing the 5G technology smartphones in 2019, while the 5G Apple iPhones are expected in late 2020.
Most likely, the OnePlus 5G smartphone will be powered with the Snapdragon 8150 chipset and X50 modem. Instead, if it comes with X24 modem, it is sure that smartphone will come with Qualcomm parts because of their partnership.
We can also expect the price hike for the OnePlus 7 but it should be less priced than the upcoming OnePlus 5G series. As everyone knows that the OnePlus 6T was launched at Rs.37,999 ($550 ) for the base variant (128GB storage). Observing the price trend of the previously launched OnePlus smartphones, OnePlus 6 which starts from Rs.37,000 ($530) OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 5 were priced at Rs.35000 ($500) and Rs.32000 ($480) respectively. We can expect a price hike of around Rs.2500 for the upcoming OnePlus 7.
