Black Shark has announced two new gaming smartphones in China called the Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro. Both gaming smartphones have impressive features including a 120Hz refresh rate, 120W fast charging, 720Hz touch sampling rate, and a SharkEye RGB light effect on the back.

Right now, no announcement has been made regarding the launch of the two gaming smartphones in India or other markets. In the meantime, here are the prices and specifications of the new Black Shark 5 series.Black Shark 5 Pro

Black Shark 5 Series Specifications and Features 

Both devices have a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with up to 144Hz refresh rate, 1300 nits of peak brightness, support for HDR10+, DC Dimming, and a 720Hz touch sampling rate. In addition, the handsets have a dual-zone pressure-sensitive display, similar to that found on the iQOO 9 series. 

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powers the Black Shark 5 Pro, while the vanilla Black Shark 5 is powered by a Snapdragon 870 SoC. Both devices feature a vapour chamber cooling system. The Pro version comes with a larger thermal cooling coil. In addition, there are dedicated trigger buttons that enhance the gaming experience.

There is a triple camera setup on the back of the Black Shark 5 Pro with a combination of a 108MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP telephoto sensor. On the vanilla model, you’ll find a 64MP primary sensor, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 13MP ultrawide sensor. Both phones come with a 16MP camera on the front.

As for the battery, the phones have a 4650 battery capacity with 120W fast charging support. Software-wise, they ship with Android 12-based JoyUI 13 skin out of the box.
