Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro announced; Specifications, features and price

Huawei has unveiled the Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro through a launch event in China. These phones have arrived with beefed-up specs compared to the predecessors P30 and P30 Pro. The key highlight of the Huawei P40 series is that it comes with Kirin 990 5G chipset.

The Huawei P40 is equipped with a  6.1-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. It supports the 60Hz refresh rate. The Kirin 990 5G chipset along with the Mali-G76 GPU processor fuels the Huawei P40 smartphone. The smartphone comes in 8GB and 128 GB storage.

The upper half of the rear shell of the Huawei P40 has a triple-camera setup that includes 50 MP Ultra Vision Camera (Wide Angle, f/1.9 aperture) + 16 MP Ultra-Wide Angle Camera (f/2.2 aperture) + 8 MP Telephoto Camera (f/2.4 aperture, OIS). The front punch-hole notch of the phone has a 32-megapixel selfie camera along with an P40IR camera.

 

On the camera front, the Huawei P40 is loaded with a triple-camera setup with a combination of 50 MP Ultra Vision Camera (Wide Angle, f/1.9 aperture) + 16 MP Ultra-Wide Angle Camera (f/2.2 aperture) + 8 MP Telephoto Camera (f/2.4 aperture, OIS). For the front, there is a 32-megapixel selfie shooter along with an IR camera.

The Huawei P40 has a 3800mAh battery that carries support for 22.5W Huawei SuperCharge fast charging tech. The Huawei P40 boots to Android 10 O, but there are no google services. 

The handset is also equipped with other features such as Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, 2 x 2 MIMO, HE160, 1024 QAM, 8 Spatial-stream Sounding MU-MIMO), Bluetooth 5.1 (Support BLE, SBC, AAC, LDAC), USB Type-C, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, NavIC, NFC and dual-SIM support.

Huawei P40 Pro Specifications and Features

The Huawei P40 Pro boasts a 6.58-inch Quad HD+ Quad-Curve Overflow Display. It has a screen resolution of 2640 x 1200 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is powered by the latest Kirin 990 5G chipset along with Mali-G76 GPU. It is backed by an 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The quad-camera system of the Huawei P40 Pro is placed at the top-left corner and includes a 50 MP Ultra Vision Camera (Wide Angle, f/1.9 aperture, OIS) + 40 MP Cine Camera (Ultra-Wide Angle, f/1.8 aperture) + 12 MP SuperSensing Telephoto Camera (f/3.4 aperture, OIS) + 3D Depth Sensing Camera. On its front, it has 32-megapixel primary lens and a depth sensor. The Huawei P40 Pro is also loaded with EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10 but without Google services.

Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Price, Availability

The Huawei P40 is priced at EUR 799, while the Huawei P40 Pro comes with a price tag of EUR 999. Both the Huawei P40 series smartphones will be available for buyers from April 7.
