Huawei Y8p goes official with Kirin 710F & 48MP triple rear camera setup

Huawei has taken the wraps off the Huawei Y8p smartphone in home-country China. As the name suggests, the Huawei Y8p is a new phone in Huawei’s Y-series. As of now, there’s no word whether the device will launch in India.

The Huawei Y8p has been listed on the global website for BYN 549 (approx. Rs. 17,100). It is likely to go sale from May 29. Huawei is offering the phone in two color variants — Breathing Crystal and Midnight Black.

Huawei Y8p Specifications and features

The Huawei Y8p features a 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. It has a full-HD+ display panel with a 20:9 aspect ratio and waterdrop notch. The device also features an in-display fingerprint scanner. It is powered by Kirin 710F octa-core processor and comes in one storage variant of 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The phone can support expandable memory up to 512GB through a microSD card.

For imaging, the Huawei Y8p is equipped with the triple rear camera setup. The main camera is a 48-megapixel shooter coupled with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-lens. There is also a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, the smartphone has a 16-megapixel pop-up camera.

It runs EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10 and packs a 4,000mAh battery with 10W fast charging. However, the phone lacks Google Play services but comes preinstalled with Huawei AppGallery and related services.

The device measures 157.4 x 73.2 x 7.75mm and weighs 172.5 grams. In terms of connectivity, it includes dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB-Type C, and 3.5mm audio jack.
