LG Velvet Goes Official; Specifications and Features

LG’s latest smartphone LG Velvet is finally here. Ahead of the official launch on May 7, the company has revealed the full specifications of the upcoming LG Velvet smartphone. However, we have to wait for the May 7th launch event to know the pricing and availability details of the LG Velvet smartphone. For buyers, the phone will be on sale in South Korea from May 15 in multiple colors such as Aurora White, Aurora Gray, Aurora Green, and Illusion Sunset.

In terms of design, the phone gets a glass and metal combination chassis offers a 3D arc design. It flaunts a refreshed rear design with a raindrop camera setup. The front of the smartphone features a waterdrop notch.

The phone gets a 6.8-inch Cinema FullVision OLED display with a tall aspect ratio of 20.5:9. The rear camera setup gets 48-megapixel primary lens, an ultrawide sensor of 8-megapixel, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel sensor. To keep the rear panel clean, the manufacturer has opted for an under-display fingerprint sensor. 

The phone comes with a quad binning technology that combines four pixels into one for shooting better shots in low-light environments. The phone also comes with Voice Out Focus feature that helps to remove unwanted sound while capturing a video. The ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) recording function can maximize the sensitivity of two high-performance microphones for capturing sound vividly. The Time Lapse function lets users adjust the speed automatically according to the shooting target or movement without any separate setting. It also allows adjustment of the speed even while recording the video.

At the heart of the LG Velvet is Qualcomm’s 7nm Snapdragon 765 SoC which the company has paired with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 storage of 128 GB. You can expand the storage through a microSD card. Keeping the lights on will be a 4,300mAh battery that supports fast charging as well as 10W wireless charging.

On the software front, it runs on Android 10 OS-based LG’s UI. Connectivity options include 5G, dual-SIM slot, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, USB-C, and 3.5mm audio jack. It also supports accessories like LG Dual Screen and Stylus Pen. These accessories will be available for purchase separately.
