Redmi Note 9 receives BIS certification ahead of its launch in India

Redmi Note 9 has received the mandatory BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification, which hints that the phone might be launching in the country soon. It is mandatory for every smartphone to receive a BIS clearance before going on sale in India. The BIS certification revealed that the Redmi Note 9 carries model number M2003J15SI.

The Redmi Note 9 is tipped to launch in China as Redmi 10X with model number M2003J15SC. Recently, the device has spotted on the TENAA certification site and it revealed some of the key specifications.

According to the TENAA listing, Redmi Note 9 will come equipped with a 6.53-inch full HD+ display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. Under the hood, it will pack a 2GHz MediaTek Helio G85 octa-core processor. It is tipped to arrive in three RAM & storage configurations: 3GB + 32GB, 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. As per the listing, the storage of the phone is further expandable up to 512GB through the MicroSD card.

The handset packs 4,920mAh capacity with 18W fast charging. On the software front, it runs the latest Android 10 OS with MIUI 11 skin.

As for the cameras, the smartphone will come with a square-shaped quad rear camera setup that reportedly includes 48MP primary lens with PDAF, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the phone will feature a 13MP selfie shooter. There will be a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. At last, the device will measure 162.3 x 77.2 x 8.9mm and it weighs 198 grams.
