At an online event on Wednesday, Lenovo-owned Motorola has unveiled its flagship Motorola Edge and Edge+ smartphones. While the premium Motorola Edge+is priced at $999 (approx Rs 76,400) in the United States, the Motorola Edge is priced at EUR 699 (approx. Rs 58,000) in Europe. Motorola Edge will be available in Solar Black and Midnight Magenta whereas the Motorola Edge+ arrived in Smoky Sangria and Thunder Grey colors.
Motorola Edge+ Specifications
The Motorola Edge+ has a curved 6.7-inch OLED display with a Full-HD+ resolution of 2520 × 1080 pixels. The screen has a 90Hz refresh rate, 21:9 aspect ratio, and HDR10+ certification. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor on the phone. The curved screen displays notifications for an incoming call shows alarm icon and also the battery percentage. It also enables users to switch apps with just a swipe up or down on the edge.
Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm’s latest and powerful Snapdragon 865 SoC with Adreno 650 GPU. The phone runs Android 10 OS. As for the RAM/storage, the Motorola Edge+ comes with 12GB LPPDDR5 RAM which is paired with 256GB UFS 3.0 of native storage. In terms of battery capacity, it has a backup of 5,000mAh battery with 18W wired and 15W wireless fast charging, 5W wireless reverse charging.
In terms of optics, the Motorola Edge+ sports a 108-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and 0.8-micron pixel size, a 16-megapixel 117-degree ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera that comes with OIS support and provides 3x optical zoom output. The primary sensor utilizes 4-in-1 pixel binning technology to provide 27-megapixel photos. The rear camera setup is also paired with the Time of Flight (ToF) sensor. Upfront, it has a 25-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and 0.9-micron pixel size for clicking selfies.
Other features of the phone are 5G, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ax (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C and 3.5mm headphone jack.
Motorola Edge Specifications
The Motorola Edge features a curved 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The HDR10 + display also offers support for the 90Hz refresh rate. It is fuelled by Snapdragon 765 SoC with Adreno 620 GPU and paired with 4GB/ 6GB RAM. Its 128 inbuilt storage can be expanded up to 1TB via the microSD card. Motorola Edge runs on a 4,500mAh battery with support for the 18W fast charging tech.
The highlight of P30 Pro is its rear quad camera setup. It sports a 64-megapixel primary camera with LED flash, f/1.9 aperture, 16-megapixel 117-degree wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera for 3x optical zoom, f/2.4 aperture alongside a ToF sensor. Upfront, the Motorola Edge features a 25-megapixel selfie camera coupled with an f/2.0 aperture lens.
Connectivity options on the smartphone include 5G, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, AGPS, NFC, USB Type-C and 3.5mm audio jack. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor.
