Nubia Red Magic 5G Pops Up on Geekbench with 8GB and 12GB RAM

Nubia is about to release its next gaming-centric phone in China called ‘Red Magic 5G’. Meanwhile, Geekbench listings allegedly belonging to the upcoming Nubia Red Magic 5G have popped up online. The listing reveals that the Nubia Red Magic 5G could come in an 8GB/12GB RAM variant. Both the models are spotted on Geekbench with the codenames SUPER_DEVICE and SuperCharger SC-B0.

The listing reveals that Nubia Red Magic 5G will be equipped with a motherboard called ‘Kona’, which is the codename for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor clocked at a base frequency of 1.80GHz. It will have 12GB RAM and will run on the Android 10 operating system. 

On the Geekbench 4 listing, the Nubia Red Magic 5G 8GB RAM variant has scored 4,308 points in single-core and 13,537 in the multi-core test while the 12GB RAM variant has scored 4,333 points in single-core and 13,489 points in the multi-core test.

Earlier, president and co-founder of Nubia, Ni Fei had confirmed that the forthcoming Red Magic 5G will be the “world’s first 144Hz 5G gaming phone”. Further, it was reported to pack Snapdragon 865 SoC along with Snapdragon X55 modem for dual-mode SA and NSA 5G connectivity.

Going by the rumors, the Red Magic 5G will be the first smartphone to come with LPDDR5 16GB of RAM in its top-end variant. The device will run on the Android 10-based custom Redmagic OS version 3.0 UI with January 2020 security patch. Other features of the phone will include a triple camera setup on the rear, Wi-Fi 6, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and a built-in cooling fan.
