| By DWR Editor

No doubt, Chinese giant OnePlus will launch a new flagship OnePlus 7 smartphone in 2019. But after the startling transformation seen with the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T, will OnePlus try to reinvent the device yet again, or opt to refine and enhance what worked so well the last time around?

Several leaks suggest that the upcoming OnePlus 7 will pack a couple of surprises. Moreover, many reports have ‘leaked’ various details about the upcoming OnePlus phone, here’s a look at everything we know so far about the upcoming OnePlus phone.

OnePlus 7: All We Know So Far

Specs

The OnePlus 7 is already confirmed to come with Qualcomm’s new and powerful Snapdragon 855 processor. Currently, this processor is powering the Xiaomi Mi 9 and Samsung Galaxy S10. However, OnePlus could offer it with the Snapdragon X50 5G modem for 5G-equipped markets whereas India could get the 4G LTE variant.

Reportedly, RAM and memory configurations will be 6GB/128GB and 10GB/256GB. Lastly, the OnePlus 7 will most likely run on Android 9 out of the box.

Display and Design

Recent reports have revealed that the OnePlus 7 will be offering a very high screen-to-body ratio since it will be featuring a notch-less full-screen display with a pop-up selfie camera. The smartphone was recently seen in the renders, which confirmed that the OnePlus 7 will be indeed sporting a pop-up selfie camera.

Cameras

As we mentioned, one of the biggest highlights of OnePlus 7 is that it will be the first OnePlus phone with a pop-up selfie camera. OnePlus 7 is expected to come equipped with a 48-megapixel primary camera along with a 20-megapixel secondary camera. The third camera will be a 5-megapixel depth sensor for bokeh effects.

In-display Fingerprint Scanner

Looking closely at the previous renders, it is confirmed that OnePlus 7 smartphones don’t house any fingerprint scanners on the rear. So, the device will have an in-display fingerprint sensor technology like with the OnePlus 6T.

Battery and Charging

Upcoming OnePlus 7 could house a massive 4,000mAh battery, which would be bigger than both the OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 6T. The device might sport faster 30W Warp Charging, but OnePlus is yet to reveal anything on this yet.

OnePlus 7 Launch Date

Reports suggest that OnePlus might be introducing the OnePlus 7 smartphone during around May. Given that the predecessor OnePlus 6 was announced on the May 2018, we can expect the OnePlus 7 to launch in May this year.

OnePlus 7 Price

As for the pricing, since the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T devices were launched in India at starting price of Rs 34,999 and Rs 37,999, respectively, the OnePlus 7 would probably be similar or be priced higher than that. But, till now the company had launched ten smartphones and each of them has arrived with a price tag that is slightly more than the phone it replaced. So, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see OnePlus 7 launching at a high price. The OnePlus 7 will replace the existing OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T that is currently sold in the country.
