OnePlus Truly Wireless Earbuds to Launch with OnePlus 7 [Report]

A lot of buzz has been around the OnePlus 7 since the company confirmed new flagship to feature Snapdragon 855. Apparently, it now appears the company is working on its first truly wireless earbuds that may be launched alongside it’s OnePlus 7 flagship. The device has been already confirmed to feature 5G support.

Last year, along with the OnePlus 6, OnePlus introduced its wireless earphones called OnePlus Bullets Wireless.  Although they’re not truly wireless like Apple AirPods or Samsung Gear IconX, it received some great response. Now, CEO of OnePlus Pete Lau has shed more light on why the company dropped the 3.5mm headphone jack and hinted at the launch of a truly wireless headset. He believed that dropping the headphone jack will allow for polishing the wireless experience.

In a Weibo post, Pete Lau mentioned the current industry trend of removing the 3.5mm headphone jack in favor of a single port. He then asks for suggestions for truly wireless earbuds. In a translated post, he says that by dropping the earphone jack, “a wireless headset with the ultimate experience will be a product that we can polish for a long time.”

This Weibo post hinted at the launch of OnePlus first truly wireless headphones along with the flagship OnePlus 7. The OnePlus truly wireless earbuds will compete against the likes of the Apple AirPods, the Samsung Galaxy Buds and Nokia’s True Wireless Earbuds. Outside of that, not much is known about what OnePlus may have changed for this truly wireless earbuds.

OnePlus traditionally refreshes its flagship line in June, but the OnePlus 7 is expected to arrive earlier than usual. Recent leaks suggest that the device might feature pop-up selfie camera.
