Samsung Galaxy A71 5G Gets Wi-Fi Alliance Approval; Launch Seems Imminent

Samsung has recently unveiled the Galaxy A71 smartphone in India for Rs. 29,999 and there have been multiple reports that Samsung has been working on a 5G variant of the Galaxy A71. Now, the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G has been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance. The device has received certification with the model number SM-A7160.

The certification reveals that the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G will boot Android 10 OS out of the box, suggests the listing further. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi certification hasn’t revealed any other specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G. Since there has been increased activity at the certification portals and benchmarking sites, we could see the launch of the Galaxy A71 5G very soon.

To recall, the same phone recently also appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking site with Exynos 980 SoC paired with 8 GB of RAM. In the Geekbench test, the handset managed to achieve 3,078 points in single-core and 7,346 points in the multi-core test.

Samsung Galaxy A71 Specifications

Galaxy A71 comes equipped with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Infinity-O Super AMOLED display that has 2400 x 1080 pixels screen resolution. Powering the device is a Snapdragon 730 SoC along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is also a microSD card slot for further expansion of storage up to 512GB via a microSD card. 

In the camera department, the Galaxy A71 has an L-shaped quad-camera setup on the rear that includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, 12-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens, 5-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.2 lens and a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.4 macro lens. Upfront, it has a 32-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 lens. The front camera also has a Slow-Mo selfie feature that allows you to record slow-motion videos from the front camera.  

It packs a 4500mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging and runs on Android 10-based One UI 2.0. Connectivity options include VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and a USB Type-C port. It also features an on-screen fingerprint sensor and face unlock feature along with the support of Samsung Pay.
