Samsung to Unveil ‘Galaxy X’ World’s First Foldable Smartphone Early Next Year

Samsung Galaxy X – being the subject of several leaks, foldable patents and flexible rumors as a first foldable handset to the world might launch in February 2019.

The idea of a foldable smartphone isn’t new as Samsung showed off this prototype in 2011, a long 7 years of making still the official release date is unclear. Some rumors marked that Samsung Galaxy X might launch in 2019, February.

Samsung is profound to defend the “world’s first” title by launching the foldable smartphone ahead of the competition as several other companies including Apple, LG, Huawei are appearing to be in the same technology development. According to old reports at the time, it would be ready for release in 2017 and have a foldable 4K display, so that the resolution would remain high even when the phone was folded but it remained as a rumor only!

To confirm the release in next year, ETNews report states that Samsung is already making foldable OLED screens for foldable smartphone model Galaxy X, Samsung aimed to make 100,000 foldable phones year, and about a million Galaxy X units next year. The Samsung Galaxy X display panels will differ from the Galaxy S9 and iPhone X as the device can be foldable by a user but the portion of the display remains observable to show the user numerous information, like battery life, time, notifications, and caller IDs without the user having to unfold the phone.

Kim Jang-yeol, head of research at Golden Bridge Investment, stated the final price of the Samsung Galaxy X phone will be approximately 2 million won ($1,850). Even though the price looks expensive, the world is waiting for special technology smartphone to be launched and officially there is no news about the Samsung Galaxy X price.
