The Chinese smartphone maker, Xioami has launched the fourth generation of a series, MIX 3, with a premium gloss features, a bezel-less 6.4-inch screen, powerful Snapdragon 845 processors and slick ceramic body. The smartphone acquires a sliding front-facing camera placed behind the screen.

Mi Mix 3 is a good performer in the camera department with a combined score of 103 which breaks down to a 108 photo and 93 video score. Only a few smartphones crossed 100 mark. While the Samsung’s flagship Note 9 achieved a score of 103, whereas the recently launched the iPhone XS Max and Huawei P20 Pro achieved a score of 105 and 109, respectively.
Mi Mix 3 comes with a dual camera setup for primary imaging. The setup includes a 12MP Sony IMX363 (1.4µm pixel size, OIS, Dual Pixel autofocus) sensor as well as a 12MP Samsung S5K3M3+ telephoto lens with AI portraits, has AI scene recognition and loss-less zoom. The camera will be able to shoot 4K videos and offers 960 fps slow-motion video recording.
Sliding Camera
Unlike the motorized slider mechanism found on the Oppo Find X and Vivo NEX, the Mi Mix 3 features a manual slider- similar to older smartphones. However, by adopting the slider form, Xiaomi has managed to increase the screen-to-body ratio on the Mi Mix 3 and also comes with a considerably smaller chin. The latest Mi Mix 3 is fuelled by a 3,200 mAh battery with fast charging and 10W Qi wireless charging support. The smartphone comes with a 10W wireless charger bundled in the package. the smartphone supports Qi-standard, so should be compatible with any wireless charger you might already have.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 3: Excellent all-rounder
The device is powered by the powerful Snapdragon 845 processor with 10GB of RAM, 256GB of onboard storage and backed by Adreno 630 GPU. Another highlighting feature is the slow-motion video recording at 960 frames per second. This smartphone comes in three color options of black, green, and blue. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI ROM and has support for Google ARCore and AI voice assistant. The Mi Mix 3 features a dedicated AI button for Xiao Ai, a voice assistant built specifically for Xiaomi phones which is similar to Apple Siri and Google Assistant.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 starts at CNY 3,299 for the base model with 6GB RAM plus 128GB storage. Mi MIX 3 with 8GB+128GB will retail at 3,599 and the top model (10GB+256GB) at CNY 3,999. Xiaomi also unveiled a special edition of Mi MIX 3 featuring a ceramic body and representing Xiezhi, a legendary creature in Chinese and Korean mythology. The special edition of the Mi MIX 3 comes with a price tag of CNY 4,999.
