India’s no.1 smartphone brand Xiaomi confirmed the launch of new Mi A2 and Mi A2 lite. After sending invites for the global launch of a new Xiaomi device, the Xiaomi has confirmed that it will announce two new Android One smartphones at the event in Spain on July 24.
Xiaomi’s twitter handler posted a tweet “We are giving you ALL not 1 but 2 smartphones on July 24th! Any guesses? #2isbetterthan1”. As the two new devices will be the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite.

Xiaomi Mi A2 Specifications and Features
As the part of Google’s Android One program, the new Xiaomi Mi A2 is rumored to run on Android 8.1 Oreo. The device reported having a 5.99-inch full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels.
The unannounced Mi A2 is expected to be powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. Xiaomi likely to announce this Mi A2 in three variants base-end variant with 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage, another 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage and top-end variant with 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage.
Talking about the camera, Xiaomi Mi A2 is most likely to have a dual camera setup. The rear camera is expected to be of a 12MP primary camera with Sony IMX486 sensor, 1.25μm pixel size, f/1.75 aperture and a secondary 20MP camera with Sony IMX376 sensor, f/1.75 aperture, and 1.0um pixel size while the device features 20MP selfie camera with Sony IMX376 sensor, 1.0um pixel size and a soft LED flash on the front with AI features.
The Mi A2 is expected to be backed by a battery capacity of 3,010mAh with Quick Charge 3.0 support. General connectivity features will include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5 LE, 3.5mm audio jack, GPS and a USB Type – C port.
Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Specifications and Features
Same as Mi A2, the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is reported to feature a smaller 5.84-inch full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The device is expected to run on Android 8.1 Oreo with the powerful octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. The Mi A2 lite also will come with multiple storage and RAM options, including 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage.
Furthermore, the Mi A2 lite is found to have a dual camera setup on the rear including a 12MP primary camera with Sony IMX486 sensor and a secondary 5MP camera with Samsung S5K5E8 sensor, f/2.2 aperture. While the selfie camera expected to be of a 5-megapixels.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite will be featured by 4,000mAh battery and connectivity options on the device will include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm audio jack and GPS.
Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite Price
Mi A2 is suggested to cost around Rs 20,000 for the 32GB variant, approximately Rs 22,800 for the 64GB variant and approximately Rs 25,600 for the 128GB variant and the website AliExpress claimed that the Mi A2 Lite could come with a starting price of $189.99 that is approximately Rs 13,000 in India.
