Xiaomi Redmi 7A Could be Launched in India in the Next Month

Last month, Xiaomi officially announced the Redmi 7A budget smartphone in home country China. While Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed any release date for the Indian market just yet, a new report from XDA Developers has claimed that the Xiaomi Redmi 7A could be launched in India next month.

As we mentioned earlier, a report from XDA Developers claims the Xiaomi Redmi 7A is going to be launched in India in the next month, i.e July. While no specific date has been mentioned in the report, we can expect Xiaomi to confirm the actual launch date very soon if the report is true.

Xiaomi Redmi 7A launched in China last month, with a price starting price of CNY 549 (approx. Rs. 5,500) in China for the 2GB + 16GB variant. The 2GB + 32GB variant will retail at CNY 599 (approx. Rs. 6,000). It is available in Matte Black and Blue color variants.

Xiaomi Redmi 7A Specifications

Xiaomi Redmi 7A sports a 5.45-inch 2.5D curved glass display with 1440 x 720 pixels HD resolution, an 18:9 aspect ratio. The handset runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, clocked at 2.0 GHz. It comes with an Adreno 505 GPU, coupled with 2GB/3GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the smartphone is available in 16GB and 32GB storage variants with a microSD card slot for further expansion up to 256GB.

On the back of the budget smartphone is a 13-megapixel single rear camera. For selfies, the Xiaomi Redmi 7A features a 5-megapixel snapper on the front. Camera features include AI Beauty camera, AI Background Blur with AI Face Unlock support. The phone measures 146.30×70.41×9.55mm and weigh 150 grams.

On the software front, the device runs Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 10 on top and is powered by a 4000 mAh battery that supports 10W charging. Moving on to connectivity features, the Redmi 7A supports dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and FM Radio.
