Xiaomi Redmi 9A India Model Allegedly Spotted on Wi-Fi Certification Site

Earlier this month, a new Redmi 9 Prime smartphone was launched in India by the Chinese brand. The phone dubbed Redmi 9A is another affordable device that has been spotted at Wi-Fi alliance certification site hinting at the launch in India. The smartphone has cleared its Wi-Fi certification which reiterates its India launch soon. To recall, the phone has alreadt received the BIS certification.


The rumoured Xiaomi Redmi 9A was spotted on Wi-Fi Alliance certification site with the model number M2006C3LI. The letter ‘I’ at the end of the model number suggests that this could an India-specific variant. The Wi-Fi Alliance listing suggests that the Redmi 9A will be launched in India with Android 10 OS. It will also come with single-band Wi-Fi connectivity. Apart from this, there is little else that is known about the device.

The company already launched the Redmi 9A smartphone in Malaysia few weeks ago and we all know the specs of the phone.

Xiaomi Redmi 9A Specifications

Xiaomi Redmi 9A sports a 6.53-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The device boots Android 10-based MIUI 11 out of the box.

Powered by the MediaTek G25 octa-core processor, the phone has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The device has a batteey of 5,000mAh. There is also a micro SD card slot for additional storage.

In terms of optics, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera and a single 13-megapixel rear camera. The phone lacks fingerprint sensor and has connectivity options such as dual SIM slot, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C, IR blaster, and 3.5mm audio jack.
