Google Pixel 4A to go on sale via Flipkart, launch confirmed for October 17

Google is gearing up to launch the Pixel 4A which made a debut globally in August. The company on Thursday confirmed that its upcoming smartphone – Pixel 4A – will go on sale via Flipkart. The tech giant has also confirmed the launch for October 17.

The announcement comes by the company while replying to a Twitter user about the Pixel 4a availability in India. The smartphone will be launched on October 17th in India and it will be made available for sale online via Flipkart. A dedicated page for the upcoming Google smartphone is also live on the e-commerce website Flipkart. However, it just says “coming soon”.

Pixel 4A Specifications, features

Pixel 4A sports a 5.81-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a 60Hz refresh rate. This is the first phone from Google to come with hole-punch design and the hole houses a single 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor with f/2.0 aperture, 84° FOV, and EIS support.

In terms of optics, the phone features a 12.2MP Sony IMX363 image sensor with an f/1.7 aperture lens, 1.4µm pixel size, 77° field-of-view, Dual Pixel Phase Detection, OIS, and EIS support. It also supports video shoot at 4K resolution at 30fps. The device is also capable of recording slow-motion videos in 1080p resolution at 120fps. Camera features include include Live HDR+, dual exposure controls, Night Sight with astrophotography, Social Share, Portrait Mode, and Super Res Zoom.

It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The handset is backed by a 3,140mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging through a USB-C port.

The handset ships with Android 10 OS out of the box and the phone will get 3 years of Android OS upgrades. Alongside the OS updates, users will also get 3 years of monthly Android security patch updates, too.
