Next-gen Google Pixel phone spotted notchless might be pixel 4

Google announced its flagship Pixel 3 series back on October 9 which has been known for its camera performance as well as for being all-around good smartphones. But design wise, it still lags in offering all screen design where the wide rectangular notch that disappoints many pixel lovers. According to the 91Mobiles.com, a new Google patent was discovered on the World Intellectual Property Organisation website. The render showcases a Pixel smartphone with an all-screen and no-bezel front face design. As of now every lead smartphone brand working on their respective unique design to ditch the notches on the display. The internet legend is currently working to get rid of notches and bezels altogether on its upcoming phones.

While we look into the patent images the rear panel of the device still houses only one camera and a single LED flash, just like the Pixel 3.And the fingerprint scanner remains centred. The physical buttons stay alive as previous ones. As was the case before, the bottom side houses just the USB Type-C port. The 3.5mm audio jack went missing on the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL and will most probably never return.

Although the render shows the device to be an all-screen front face design, it’s hard to say if Google will actually employ it in the next-gen Pixel devices. To create a device with a screen-to-body ratio that’s nearly 100 per cent then physical buttons must be hidden or negligible. Many other brands who are sticking to tiny teardrop notch or are using a pinhole design for the front camera to offer an edge to edge display experience. The Huawei Nova 4 is one such phone.

However, there is no confirmation from the company of the next pixel devices. The outgoing Pixel models, the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL, were launched in October 2018. With key specs, Pixel 3 has an 18:9 5.5-inch P-OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and no notch, while the larger Pixel 3 XL sports an 18.5:9 6.3-inch P-OLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels and a notch in the middle.
