The much-anticipated electric two-wheeler scooter by Ola Electric has hit the Indian market. According to the company, electric scooters are designed and engineered in India and offer consumers the best riding experience.

Ola S1 costs Rs 99,999 while Ola S1 Pro costs Rs 1,29,999. The delivery of the new scooters will begin in October.

In terms of the features, the display measures 7-inches and is shatter-proof. A powerful octa-core processor is coupled with 3GB of RAM. A few of the features of the scooters are geo-fencing, anti-theft alert, Bluetooth connectivity, GPS and Wi-Fi, four ‘moods’ for the sound, a reverse mode, and in-built speakers. It comes with a mono-shock absorber on the front, disc brakes in both the front and rear and extra-wide 110/70-R12 MRF tires. The scooter does not require a key and operates on proximity unlock, which senses when you come close to it and locks once you move away from it. In addition, it can be locked and unlocked from the mobile application or from the scooter’s screen.

Additionally, Ola Electric app users can set up an appointment for in-home service, as well as receive battery and health alerts. The company has also developed a new operating system called Ola MoveOS for the vehicle. A ‘Hyperdrive motor’ drives the machine, generating a peak power output of 8.5kW. The Ola S1 will have a top speed of 90 KM/h, whereas the Ola S1 Pro will reach 115 KM/h, and they will each reach 40km/h in 3.6 seconds and 3 seconds, respectively.

The Ola S1 is based on the Etergo Appscooter and uses banana-shaped batteries, but Ola’s vehicles have fixed batteries and are not removable. The S1 model has a battery capacity of 2.98 kWh, while the Pro model comes with a battery capacity of 3.97 kWh – the biggest battery yet on a production electric two-wheeler in India.

According to Ola, the S1 model provides a range of 121 kilometers, and the Pro model provides 181 kilometers of range. It is higher than any other electric two-wheelers currently available in India. There will be a 750W charger offered by Ola, and Ola is also planning to set up a network of Hyperchargers all over the country, offering a range of 75 kilometers in just 15 minutes.
