Redmi 7 Launch Date Officially Revealed

Xiaomi is prepping two new smartphones covering the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi 7 for the Chinese market on March 18. The company which unveiled the first-mentioned phone ‘Redmi Note 7 Pro’ for Rs 13999 earlier in India and now, the company is set to launch it in China along with the new budget smartphone Redmi 7.

Xiaomi’s new sub-brand Redmi’s new General Manager, Lu Weibing confirmed the launch of Redmi 7 alongside the Redmi Note 7 Pro in China via Weibo. Apart from confirming the date, he also revealed the design of the smartphone. The image published by the Lu Weibing shows the upcoming Redmi phone in Black, Blue, and what looks like a Sunrise Red colors with the launch date March 18 below it.

The Redmi 7 will be the successor of the Redmi 6 and recently the device has appeared in TENAA listing, revealed few key specifications. As per the TENAA listing, the phone is expected to sport a 6.26-inch HD+ display with 1520 x 720 pixels resolution along with a 4,000 mAh battery. The device will be fuelled by the 1.8GHz octa-core processor under the hood with three RAM and storage configurations: 2GB RAM + 16GB, 3GB RAM + 32GB, and 4GB RAM + 64GB. All these three variants internal storage can be expandable up to via a MicroSD card slot.

For photography, there will be a 12-megapixel sensor on the back, although the listing does not reveal the secondary sensor details. Up front, there is only an 8MP single camera sensor for selfies. It runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box with the MIUI 10 laid on top. The device measures 158.65 × 76.43 × 8.9 mm and its weight as 180 grams. TENAA listing revealed that the Redmi 7 will be available in black, red, blue, pink, white, green, purple, and gray color variants.

Xiaomi has been keen on following an aggressive pricing strategy in order to compete with other brands and fans may be glad if it sticks to this policy. The exact availability of information and when the Redmi 7 phone will reach India remain unclear for now, but we won’t have to wait for long. We will know more about the device next week.
