The Oppo Reno 8 series smartphones have been announced in China today. Oppo has announced the Oppo Reno 8 Pro+, Reno 8 Pro, and vanilla Reno 8. 
Oppo Reno 8 Pro is also the world’s first smartphone to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. Other key highlights of the Oppo Reno 8 series include AMOLED screens, up to 12GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage, and 80W fast charging.
Oppo Reno 8 Series Price, Availability
Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ is priced at CNY 3699 (approximately Rs 43,100), while Reno 8 Pro starts at CNY 2999 (approximately Rs 35,000). The vanilla Reno 8 price in China starts at CNY 2499 (approximately Rs 29,100). The devices are already up for pre-order in China and may be released in India within the next few months.
Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ Specifications
Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ boasts a 120Hz 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 2412 × 1080 pixels, 93.4% screen to body ratio, 360Hz touch sampling rate, 100% DCI-P3, and up to 950nits peak brightness, an in-display fingerprint scanner and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
It is powered by Dimensity 8100 Max SoC, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The handset also has a MariSilicon X chip,w which is said to boost camera performance on the smartphone.
It comes with a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies, you’ll find a 32MP Sony IMX709 camera. A 4500mAh battery powers the Reno 8 Pro+, which is coupled to an 80W Super Flash charging.
It runs Android 12-based ColorOS 12.1. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and Type-C port. The handset has a 7.34mm thickness and 183-gram weight.
Oppo Reno 8 Pro Specifications
Reno 8 Pro comes with a 120Hz 6.62-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 2400 × 1080 pixels, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a 92% screen-to-body ratio. Powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, the handset packs up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. The camera setup, battery, and fast charging on the Reno 8 Pro are the same as the Reno 8 Pro+.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and Type-C port. The device has a 7.57mm thickness and weighs 188 grams.
Oppo Reno 8 Specifications
The Oppo Reno 8 is equipped with a smaller 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, a 90Hz screen refresh rate, peak brightness of 800 nits, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. There is Dimensity 1300 SoC, up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM, and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
Additionally, the Reno 8 features a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP b&w sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. It has a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor on the front. A 4,500 mAh battery powers the handset, which also supports 80W fast charging.
Additionally, this device features a MariSilicon X chip. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, Type-C port. The device has a 7.67mm thickness and weighs 179 grams.
